Fatigue

For the last few weeks, I've been having a certain amount of problems focussing my concentration. I can only really describe it as 'fatigue' as it's not really _tiredness_ exactly, and I have been sleeping fairly well. (at least, I think I have :)). It's starting to bother me, and not least because it's starting to be such an effort to keep track of 'things' at work. I'm noting stuff down, but the normal 'memory assist' effect of the notes doesn't seem to work.

Thing is, I could swear I'm generally fitter and in better shape than I've been in a long time (far from perfect, I know, but better :)), and eating better too. I've noticed this fact on a few occasions where I've genuinely noticed having a lot of 'bounce' but notably less so recently, when given the choice I might just end up zombifing all day.

Oh well, I'm off on training next week (so won't be about, Sunday pm -> friday evening, most likely) so I'll see if a change in routine has any real effect.

you might want to check if your improved eating habits do include some electrolite essentials like iron (spinach, pork, artichokes are rich) and magnesium (? I need to have it in a supplement, citrate works better than oxide for good absorbtion purposes) - the first for red cells production the second for energy metabolism.
Otherwise it could be just plain old need_a_restful_holiday_without_STUFF type thing.
Hope you find your bouncy self back soon!

Have you had a flu bug or virus in the last month or two? Could be a residual post viral syndrome - had the same myself 2 years ago and it lasted months - but they can come and go over a few weeks...

[livejournal.com profile] hedya's note on physiology is good, have you also considered any psychological issues that may be affecting you? Has someone, something or some experience recently challenged/changed your beliefs? It is possible for subconscious conflicts to manifest themselves as physiological symptoms.

In terms of exercise do you promise yourself something when you started? That you would feel something different, or you would experience life differently after a period of time. If the promise to yourself didn't materialise, did part of you want to give up and go back to the lifestyle before exercising?

Alternatively ,and much less seriously, as you have embraced Whitby and gothdom so it has embraced you. A dark and brooding element has entered into your psychic landscape, as you became more interested in gothic things so you started acting more like your personal interpretation of what a goth is. Such an interpretation may be different in your conscious and subconscious.

I usually find that around this time of year, the weather rapidly shifting between 'too damn hot' and 'too damn humid' and 'too damn both at once' tends to kill an amazing amount of enthusiasm.

When the last time you had a restful holiday/break? WGW doesn't count for so many obvious reasons?

I feel very much the same way, and put it down to the fact that I've not had a decent rest since this time last year.

Could just be gothic apathy as suggested elsewhere, of course ;-)
