Ok, look I know you want to emphasise that it's really early and everything, but do you _have_ to specify a time as "4AM in the morning"?
I mean, AM is Ante Meridiem - quite literally 'before the middle of the day'.
Either or, please. 4 in the morning or 4AM is fine.
4 in the morning in the morning just seems daft.

Incidentally - the Romans used 'Ante-Meridian' literally - 4 AM was 4 hours before noon.

English is full of redundancy - who needs vowels anyway?

It's almost as annoying as PIN number.

Ah RAS syndrome.

There are worse examples, like your Personal PIN Number, which is RedundAnt RAS Syndrome

Many languages use this form as a stress. Many words can be said double instead of a word like 'very'. Also certain phrases add redundancy as stress. "suwaare" as opposed to "suraar na por ma", "wellu" as opposed to "wellu wellu"

I have seen worse. You will also find it written as 04:00 am in the morning. For those that like to confuse their 24 and 12 hour clocks as well as adding redundancy.
