It is legitimate.

Aparently the legislation is designed to free up time in Parliment so outdated laws can be updated.

Of course some commentators have already pointed out that Germany enacted legislation just like after the Reichstag fire and before the Second World War...

Not to mention this legislation will also apply to itself.

Hurrah! I want to move somewhere less oppressive, but I don't speak Brazilian...

Look, you only want to move to Brazil because of the hot weather, the women and the street parties. (we'll gloss over the daytime soaps being worse than here, the shanty towns and the death squads... far better isn't it?)

Much as I like the idea of Parliament having more time to talk about important issues, I'm also not a fan of this bill.

.oO(Is it coincidence that V for Vendetta is out on Friday? Or irony?)

Still it could be worse, we could have enacted the DCMA and the Patriot bill as well. You have to feel sorry for certain nations...

What?

You thought Parliament passed all laws?

They already rubber stamp whatever diktats come down from Brussels, and the powers granted under Secondary Legislation are already quite wide
