I have my copy of star wars. I'm watching it now. Full rant to follow, but I've just noticed. The 'boxed set' is PG. But each of the 'features' is 'U'.
Hmmm...having watched the first 30-40 mins of the gratuitous asskissing Making Of documentary, I can postulate that the bonus disc is PG for one simple reason.
Children, subjected to the documentary unsupervised, may well go on homicidal killing sprees, pyromaniacal frenzies, or may just gouge their eyes out through boredom.
It starts with: 'This is what America was like when Lucas was growing up!' 'Here are some of Lucas' contemporary directors...' 'Look! We'll show you interviews with people who think George Lucas can do no wrong!" 'Lucas bemoans that the critics 'just didn't get' THX, and pulled all his funding.
It could get better later on, I guess, once they get into the actual 'making of', but it begins like one of those Christmas Day specials, where it's not the most exciting thing ever, but you're stuffed to bursting, and you can't be arsed to get up and put on something better.
