EVE: Sovereignty wars
Oct. 18th, 2010 04:04 pmSo, you may ask yourself, what's going on in EVE right now.
Actually, you probably don't care. But as this is my blog, I shall wibble a little.
What the alliance I'm in, stands for, is 'free space'. The notion that claiming territory is regressive, and that we oppose anyone who does it.
So not so very long ago, we took the opportunity to put up a 'free trade' outpost, in a system called YWSO-Z. This was know as Temporary Autonomous Zone Norlonto. A shining beacon in space, all alone in the night. A place where people could come to trade and negotiate.
Because of what we stood for, docking was open to anyone who wasn't hostile, and we ... well, have been on and off hostilies with 'the locals' for a while. They've decided we don't deserve to be here, because we 'never helped' them in some conflict or other. Which isn't much a surprise, given they'd have shot at us as well, but whatever.
So a new alliance - 'On the Rocks' has been 'given' this system, and told we're terrible. We've been offered a very salutatory amount for giving it up - the cost of the ammo they'd have shot at it.
So Star Fraction has objected, in the strongest possible terms - we've decided that they are going to pay in blood - the cost of this project was 24 billion ISK, and we are going to reclaim that from them, in damage. (Or cold hard cash. They're quite welcome to pay us off)
The campaign has started.
It's being tracked on our 'killboard' - http://www.jericho-fraction.net/killboard/?a=cc_detail&ctr_id=29&view=recent_activity
(this is a record of kills and losses in the campaign).

Date: 2010-10-18 05:47 pm (UTC)Didn't realise you guys were with Star Fraction.
WoW is still clinging on to my soul for the moment, but as Cataclysm gets closer I'm less and less bothered about playing it.

Date: 2010-10-18 06:20 pm (UTC)If they lose a ship, it logs as a kill.
If you look at: http://www.jericho-fraction.net/killboard/?a=home you'll see all our combat activity, in chronological order. Including stuff that isn't against this alliance - there's been a few people wanting to get 'in' on the bandwagon, which is highly entertaining - when we're planning a combat op, it's deeply hilarious to see two of our enemies shooting each other, with us just standing off, to finish the victor.
There's been a lot of fights at predictable locations, at predictable times, so it gets all messy.

Date: 2010-10-19 07:02 am (UTC)It seems like they are taking out high value targets whereas you are destroying many of their ships.
The average ship cost of their ships lost is between a quarter and a half of the cost of the average ship you guys are loosing
