Teamspeak 3

We've just moved from Ventrillo, to the new version of teamspeak.
I have to say, I'm just not impressed. You see, I used to use 'CAPSLOCK' as my Push-To-Talk button in Ventrillo. I don't use it normally, and ventrillo has this really amazing 'discard hotkey' option - effectively turning 'off' my capslock key, whilst I was using voice comms.

It seems teamspeak isn't quite so enlightened. Now I'm going to have to use something else. Which is annoying, as capslock is a rather useless key in general, and quite well placed. But I can't really accept toggling ALL CAPS on and off every time I use it.

Or just run it on my netbook or something I guess.

This is why I use scrolllock (having bound one my my mouse-buttons to replicate that key). Less annoying than capslock.

I'm confused. I'm pretty sure I can just use a mouse button without having to bind it to anything. I've got middle mouse as my PTT now, but I've already noticed I was pressing capslock to talk, and of course no one was answering.

Possibly can, but I like using the mouse button for other things outside of eve and the logitech drivers I have swap the bindings depending on the active program (changing it to scroll-lock when eve is active). :)

These both sound better than my push to talk key, the tithe key ( ` ).
Means I end up with a chat window full of ````` entries.

... So why have you moved from Ventrillo?

The alliance has, because TS3 is a substantial improvement in a lot of ways. It's also more popular amongst EVE players, so it does help move towards unified voice comms amongst allies.

And it does have a lot of nice functionality, it's just ... well, that one which I miss.
