If I'm right, this post should pop up in a facebook feed of some kind.

Which I sort of like the notion, but am less sure that using one 'messaging services' to spam another is ... well, not just dirty and wrong.

Anyone got thoughts on the matter? Will you be mortally offended if my farcebook automatically status updates each time I make a post?

And this is a repost. I've deleted previous attempts, but it'd be just my luck to find there was just a delay of some kind, and you'll see hundreds of facebook spams. Or y'know, not, because facebook is just full of spam anyway.

I tried it for a while, and then found that the only people who were bothering to read the posts on facebook were the same ones that used lj anyway. I was expecting other friends to be interested, but it just didn't work out that way. In the other hand, I think people who write very short lj posts that are very social in nature find facebook pretty compatible. People who hold debates and discussions or write long posts or a lot of posts about the minutiae of life don't find it that great.

As for being 'dirty and wrong' I disagree. I see no problem with crossover, and evidently neither do they, or the feature wouldn't exist and wouldn't be used.

Well, it was mostly because I'd seen people who'd twittered onto LJ, and that ... well, just annoyed me - 20 entries per page, with 18 of them being one person's twits just ... ugh.

Wasn't so bothered about going the other way - I figure LJ is a lower postcount, despite being a higher wordcount.

Not that I could get the facebook beacon to work mind, but so it goes.

Yeah, I've never visited twitter, but the way twitter reports to lj puts me right off, so I've never been inclined. Most people who do it on mine, it comes through all as 1 entry at the end of the day, but that just makes it worse, because it covers too many topics, and you wouldn't comment on that kind of lj post unless you had something you were really eager to say. But lj to facebook seems to work OK if it suits you. I just clicked the 'import a journal' link and it worked fine.

Hmm, I shall have to find this import a journal link - I'd mostly aimed to have LJ update farcebook, rather than the other way around.

I've got the RSS syndication feed to FB sorted as well, but as I only rarely post it doesn't pop up too often!
