Jan. 22nd, 2009 05:23 pmPermit me to enthuse a bit about left 4 dead.
First person shooters, for me, are more fun when they're the 'shooty shooty' kind, and less of the 'sneaky sneaky' kind. Don't get me wrong, I understand why e.g. deus ex never has enough ammo for my 'guns blazing' approach, but ... well, it's not really what I'm looking for.
So anyway, Left 4 Dead. Concept is quite simple - there are zombies, and there are 4 survivors who ended up immune to whatever it was.
And... that's about it actually. The 4 campaigns are 'your 4 survivors try and get to rescue, by going from saferoom to saferoom, and then there's a big fight at the end whilst rescue comes in'.
It's quite a fun idea, as team vs. zombies is intrinsically awesome. Doubly so, because there is a shotgun, which is in my opinon utterly mandatory for that kind of thing.
Anyway. GAAH BRAINS
