Bablylon A.D. is pretty much Triple X does Children of Men.
It shoots wide of the mark, and flops a bit. Some nice action scenes and settings, but overall a bit weak. Could possibly be redeemed, but the current fad of blink->blur fight sequences is one that annoys me.

Wouldn't recommend it as one to catch in the Cinema.

Its got Vin Diesel in it so BEloved wouldn't touch it with a bargepole at the cinema OR on DVD...

Other than the fight sequences, it would have been a good film, except for the last 15 minutes...

Oh, and it has one of the worst film ending in cinema history.

I saw the review of this at rotten tomatoes, I believe it was at 0%, now at 4% fresh.

Would the film been improved if the last 15 minutes had been cut? Or would that have left huge plot holes?

A little. You'd still have the gaping hole of un-resolvedness. A Better 15 minute ending would have been easy, and far preferable.

the previews for Babylon AD made me expect something a lot more original... it totally felt like a cross between Minority Report and the Fifth Element
