I was speaking to people tonight about ISPs.
We are with Be, and their URL is: https://www.bethere.co.uk/

Zen - didn't like Be's technical weakness, or the lack of static IP addresses.

Well, BE have given us a static IP :)

Yes, but they wouldn't do 8, or 16.

I wouldn't have used them for that alone, but they also estimated a significantly lower speed than I already had, and their technical support staff knew frighteningly little.

Fair enough. They do appear to offer 8/16 static ips now, but they do charge £10/£20 extra a month for them.

Can't comment on the speed thing as they're the first ADSL2 company I paid any attention to in Coventry.

Aha, that was it. RIPE specifically prohibit charging for IPs (an administrative charge to set them up is OK)

Everybody breaks RIPE's rules - but to do so so blatantly is a step too far
