Allergies

Well, I've had an allergy test thingy.
The results are graded as '0-4', with 0 being no reaction, to 4 being severe reaction.
I got
1: Egg White

0-1: (e.g. mildly reactive)
Mollusc Mix
Mustard Seed
Peanut
Yeast.

So, maybe I'll be thinking about how to avoid those.

Who did you have an allergy test with? And what does 1 actually mean?

Company called 'yorktest', and it involves taking and sending a blood sample off.

They do a basic 'do you have a reaction' test, which is cheap. And a much more detailed 'and what of these hundred odd foods does it react to' that is not so cheap.

If the latter is within 21 days of the former, they can use the same sample.

I'd be deeply sceptical of the result then, especially such a minor reaction.

*shrug*. Egg white is one I've had flagged up before, and I do react to chicken for sure.

The ASA found that:

* YorkTest could not substantiate their claim to offer “clinically validated” testing.
* YorkTest could not substantiate their claims of clinical efficacy.
* The claims made in Yorktest adverts could lead to mistaken diagnoses.

*shrug*. Although, the fact that egg white is one I was approximately aware of, would suggest it wasn't _total_ quackery. *shrug* we'll see I guess.
