That was huge amounts of fun. I don't think I spent much time at all lazing around, I was so busy.
There really is a lot to be said for competent eidolon support when one is preaching.
It started a few days before, with about the best downtime report ever, (Which I understand is the work of the wonderful Mr Raff). Serious case of event fever kicked in. It was like being seven and christmas all over again.
The God logistics was superb, from character pack distribution, to general queue lengths each of the times I was there. (And it was quite a few :)).
The site was good, having all the groups camping by faith was an interesting idea, and I think it worked quite well to create an interesting event layout. Despite OC moaning, things worked pretty smoothly.
Having House Lyrus move in to a 'real' trade house was also excellent fun. Getting rolled during the event was a bit of a bugger, but provoked a lot of interesting roleplay - including a wake, where bodies of those wot died were carried around the campsite. And best of all, said rolling was nothing to do with me... (I did have a _little_ apprehension along those linse)
Forevers Trading are all wonderful, and camping down with them certainly made the event extremely entertaining.
Primus was, as ever, splendid (thanks Ash), although his costume on saturday did provoke a certain amount of discussion. (It was a loincloth, and ... well not a lot else really).
Because of the 'event laws' a lot of people were prodded into 'considering' character religion. I know I initiated several, but managed to lose count - there was lots of preaching around the bar, and it involved a lot of beer.
The 'avenging angel of the huntress' was also wonderful, and terrifying. As was Mr Spikey himself, Flail (for somewhat different reasons admittedly).
The foundation stone, which was to be blessed at the event was spectular, but not quite as spectacular as the insanity of the crew who towed ... well it must have been at least 2x2x4m ... block across the site, on rollers and with ropes. I assume it was hollow, but even so with weather being blazingly hot ... well it was impressive. (And worth checking the photos for if you didn't see it)
Having a trial was also fun. I got tried for a crime I didn't even come close to committing.
And well, faith stuff was much in evidence, and a lot of fun as a result.
I really do think I didn't stop this weekend, and my feet are confirming this impression. But it was still a _LOT_ of fun.
Edit: And I appear to have been accosted by a cat again. I'm not sure where this one lives normally, but is certainly being quite nosy around the house.
