New management
Jun. 14th, 2006 03:50 pmWe have a new manager in one of our business units. He's ringing up IT to ask us to do stuff, that's good and fluffy and wonderful.
He's not got a clue what he's talking about, but is playing 'chinese whispers' between two people, who have a vague ish sense what he's waffling about.
I think he's trying to make a good impression and 'sort out inefficiencies' under the possible assumption that we clearly don't know what we're doing, and are just being obstructive.
No. I am not going to let your users edit site wide configuration for a business critical application. Not when I know _full well_ who'll be screamed at, shot and left tidying up the mess when it does eventually go horrifically wrong.
