Maelstrom: There were a few fliers knocking around denouncing the evils of my particular brand of priesting.
I've knocked together a kinda counter flier, that I'm thinking of handing out.
The text is posted below, because I'm interested in a spot of proofreading, however it's vaguely an in game thingy so please don't feel obliged to read it. (Although if you're attending the next maelstrom, I'm intending that you _will_ see it, if I ensure fliers are suitably distributed).

The way of the Jaguar.

I’ve heard a few distressing rumours regarding the teachings of the Jaguar over the last few months. I feel it is time to set the facts out, so the rumours may dissipate.

The Jaguar is the God of Desire and Fulfillment.
He teaches us that it is our desires that drive us to accomplish things, and the pleasure we take in achieving our desires is a divine sacrament.
Our mortal bodies are filters, that allow us to perceive the world around us. We must interpret the senses, and experience delights in order to better understand ourselves. Our purposes, and our true desires.

But mistake not, the Jaguar isn’t just about drinking, drugs and debauchery. Whilst such things may bring pleasure, they are often a short term matter. The longer term pleasure is also important to consider. The weighing of joy today, against greater joy tomorrow.

And so it is we should all seek to increase the net amount of pleasure in the world around us.

Nor does he teach that all your days should be spent involved in carnal delights, any more than you would spend your entire life in meditation and prayer. No, more simply take a little time each day to affirm your belief in his ways, and take a little pleasure in who you are, and what you are doing.

Abstinence, anticipation and later release is often a positive affirmation of the teachings of the Jaguar. Obviously on these holy days, ones observance of religions is all the more important, and so I would exhort you all to go out and enjoy yourselves, indulge desires and experience delights.

The way of the Jaguar is the way of the hedonist, the sensate.
And so it is, that doing the things that you take pleasure in, and bring pleasure to others, are acts of sacrament to the Jaguar.

If you want to follow the ways of the Jaguar.
If these words seem to be ones that call to you.
If you like the idea of no longer “going to the bar”, but instead “Going to the Bar, in the name of God”.
If you would like to know more.
Or if you would simply like to experience some interesting forms of worship and parties.

Then please speak to Thorn, the Dryad.

What an excellent take on the way of the Jaguar. How soon before you take over most of the players? Grab them by their beer bellies and their hearts and minds will follow.

There's a reason I've been experiencing a certain measure of success in my preaching :)

Does worship of the Jaguar give you protection from losing the game?

Excellent! Great angle on the whole "Jaguar isn't just about drink and drugs". Look forward to seeing many more initiates of Jaguar!

So will this be a leaf-let or just a leaflet?

I think it is a well measured and insightful document.. and will go a long way to gaining you converts.. as long as the other more jealous players who can't put ogther such a measured arguement don't kill you first..

I am still not happy about Gerwyn's post-game comments.. I feel his plan is tacky and lacking in style.

Would you happen to know which group he's a member of? Or who he was in game?

Rufus, the very zealous Weaverite priest that was trying to bump off your other converts/me. Aligned with Elila DeBrynn and some of the Flems.

Ahh, I see. Rufas Gustal, of the Evangelical Church Of The Sky. Hrm. Well, I'll have to avoid giving him opportunity to get me jobbed next time around I think.

One side of things it might be nice to see from the Jaguar devotees is respect and aid for others attempting to attain their desires. In particular, I think lessons about how to help out those people out of their skull would be apt. Jaguar devotees should come to the aid of anyone who has obviously had a bit too much, get them upright and back to their tent, or see them safely through the worst of the drugs effects, etc.

In brief, there should be a tenet about mopping up after yourselves ;)
