Well, day 3 of training is nearly over. Got onto some of the good stuff today, such as CAVA, home directories and MS DFS (which is basically automounter, just not as good).

It's given me a few ideas for things to bodge in our current environment.

Should be meeting [livejournal.com profile] zaitan later, for food. Am currently reading Judas Unchained, by Peter F. Hamilton. It's panning out quite nicely, in his usual style of flow, but if he digs up another 'deus ex' at the end, I'm afraid I will have to go and have words.

.. and if you're planning on coming to Infest, now is a good time to tell me .. before I actually mail the envelope for the tickets ...

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to confirm on the holiday booking until monday. Go ahead and send, and I'll worry about sorting it later. Sorry to mess you around.

No prob - can wait until Monday if you like? It's not as if there's a rush ..
(in fact, don't you mean Tuesday? That's good too - it's not as if anything's going to get processed before then anyway ...)

I'm in Monday, at which point I shall prod my boss for a yes/no one way or the other. Assuming he's also in monday of course, which seems to be an increaseingly rare occurance.

I'll wait until Monday, then :-) - give me a yay or nay and I'll book the hotel and add you to the ticket list if 'twas a yay :-).

I have, and quite liked them, but they still suffer somewhat from the 'magic thing saves day' kind of story resolution. Fallen Dragon and Nights Dawn (trilogy) have this problem too.
