I've just bought a TomTom One. I should have got one of these ages ago, they're great.
It's a satellite navigation thingy. I set a destination, and maybe a few way points, and it calculates a route.
Nice and simple.
This one's pretty user friendly, with the added coolbits that a real tech head wants to see (like gps info, number of satellite locks, that kind of thing)
It also supports phone + gprs + updates. You pay extra for the traffic info, but I suspect it'd be worth it.
The 'ONE' is a '300' but newer. Apparantly those version numbers and price tags on the TomTom range are about map coverage (300 = uk, 500 = uk + major routes in europe, 700 = europe and minor roads) and have a minor effect on what gubbins you get (e.g. mains charger vs. car charger vs. both.)

My dad recently got one of those, I am not sure if it is exactly the same model but it is a very nice toy. If I had a car I would consider getting one.
