Which spell?

In D&D, there's a Spell List (And Part II) (Found here).
So, if you were able to cast 1 D&D spell, up to 3 times per day, which would you pick, and why?
(Remembering that material components will still have to be paid, and XP components would become problematic as there's no convenient orcs to go beat).
For me, I've rather liked the idea of being able to fly, or maybe going invisible. Teleport also struck me as kinda cool too.

Date: 2005-08-22 03:33 pm (UTC)Of the healings, well there's several clear contenders:
Heal (fully heal any injury? You'd be set in the medical profession, at least, up to 3 times a day)
Cure Disease
Cure Poison
Restoration
Regenerate
And then, of course, there's resurrect and ilk. (Re-incarnate? :))
Comprehend languages could be a pretty useful utility spell, as could Telepathic bond (sidestepping the 'language issue').
Of course, narrowing it down to just one...

Date: 2005-08-22 03:20 pm (UTC)Protection from energy would be good for various things. Betting people that you can plunge your hand into boiling water would be amusing.
If you want to be a really good detective then speak with dead would give you a massive advantage.
Freak people out at the swimming pool with water breathing.
Silence 15' radius on the television in a pub :)
Go into the medical profession with cure disease.
Or disposal of radioactive/toxic waste with disintegrate.
Use zone of truth in the house of commons just before Prime Ministers questions. Also handy for interrogations.
Tree Shape for the ultimate dryad costume for Maelstrom.
Polymorph any object could be useful as well.

Haste on the other hand, giving one a bit of a speed boost, for a longer duration...

One spell that would make the world a better place? Zone of Truth, maybe.
Or if everyone had their pick of spell, it might be safer taking Greater Spell Immunity ;)

Date: 2005-08-23 09:53 pm (UTC)Simulacrum would be good for making a fortune from tabloids/Hollywood and worth the XP cost.
Dominate person. Oh dear. That would be unfortunate...
Summon Monster VII. Cool monsters for a little while including djinn.
For those bad days... Weird or Disintegrate.
