sobriqueLast night, I attended the 'Effective IT' awards in London. It was a steamy pile of bullshit propaganda, presented by a C list celeb but it did have:
A free bar.
A rather good dinner.
Some rather hot totty as 'entertainment'. A few acrobats, and a girl wandering around with a large snake draped around her. (And not much else).
A free bar.
A formula 1 car.
Some dodgems (!?)
And a free bar.
I've just got into work, after getting the train into London. I can honestly say it's been an _extremely_ long time since I last got that drunk. I woke at about 0630, still dressed, half on my bed. I can only assume I passed out rather than actually going to sleep, about 2-3am.
There was some charity shilling going on too, with some group that have managed to incorporate special needs children and rugby. I have no clue what possible link there is, 'cept maybe using them as rugby balls or something.
Managed to make it as far as breakfast, and have snoozed somewhat on the train. I think today is mostly a write off for those what went though.
We even got a 'highly commended' (AKA 'loser') certificate. That kinda got lost in the hungover stumble to leave this morning though.
I've got to return my suit this afternoon, and also drive down to hampshire. Which'll be nice. Popping home to spend the weekend with my family. Of course, this also means I'll miss out on playing EVE for a whole 4 days or so, which is a bit of a problem. But I expect I'll cope.

I believ I have posted about the Mac's Do's previously in my LJ. but I can't remember where to link to. Sounds like you had a good time though. Don't you just love the corporate self-adolative rubbish you get at such events:)
