Friday stuff
Feb. 6th, 2004 11:13 amIt seems I've come down with something. A lurgy of some sorts, that's a sore throat, a bit woozy lightheaded, a sniffly nose.
And for some reason chronically thirsty. Chugged 2 litres of evian in pretty short order last night.
Oh well. Apparantly it's been doing the rounds, and a workmate had the bug the other day.
I've been harrassed by the recruitment agencies again. I really do think they've got to be on some fat commission. I'm not sure how much though, does anyone happen to know? I figure it's going to be a percentage of appointment salary. I just wonder if they stand to make more off me moving job than I do (well, for the first year or so anyway). I suppose I could always ask when next I'm at interview.
It seems I'm going to be working on Sunday. A machine I need to mess with has an '11am on sundays' service level. What a crap idea. I mean, it's not like I _mind_ working sundays exactly, it's more that it's quite clearly a manager that sets that kind of requirement. What's wrong with 'sunday mornings'? So I could go in early ish, get it done, and then go get breakfast.
The other irritation, is that I'm in transit for an hour, for about 45 minutes work. Faintly irritating. I'm tempted to take along
a paperback and read for a bit. Just to make clear my feelings.
Oh well, at least it's at time and a half. Which is a useful amount of money, if not especially amazing.
So I'll not be 'doing' breakfast in Sainsburies on sunday. Would anyone be interested in a lunch gathering instead? Maybe somewhere like inspire, or maybe even the bear.
Oh well, pub tonight. That always makes things seem a little better.
Incidentally, I've mixed together some fudge, and managed to get my journal to appear as www.nightstalker.net. Which is nice.
And todays question is:
[Poll #244632]
If you'd care to elaborate, then please feel free to leave a comment.

Date: 2004-02-09 02:32 pm (UTC)I ramble extensively on a number of subjects, but there's always a filter of 'things I'd rather not make public'. Even with 'friends only' posts, there's always a chance of someone seeing the post from cached internet files, or stolen cookies, or just a shared computer. Or just random gossip of course.
The filter is pretty simple. If I wouldn't mind it being discussed down da pub on a friday night, it's ok to include :)
