Working for an engineering company, does have certain drawbacks.
Namely a major shortage of totty.
However one of the advantages is our goods forwarding department.
They're great. Give 'em a bundle of assorted crap, a destination and a cost code, and they will pack it up to 'virtually indestructable' and ship it out on one of our bulk couriers.

A minor compensation I admit, but I have trouble with gift wrapping, let alone 'packing'.

Busy day

Well, having some time off work, a few days in, and more time off work is very therapeutic. Unfortunately, this morning various people twigged that I wasn't going to be about much, so today has, and is busy busy.
I'm not going to finish the thing that I ideally would have (but frankly, I almost never do) but I have completed the stuff that urgently needed to happen.

Which is nice.

Now, some of you may remember, that I acquired a "Das Keyboard" for the purposes of generally showing off at work.
It's a 'precison weighted' keyboard that has lighter key pressures under the 'outlying' fingers, and heavier ones nearer the middle.

I've grown to love it for a couple of reasons. The first is, it's actually shockingly comfortable to use. Those key weightings may sound gimmicky, but they really are nice.
The other is of course, the ongoing geek-fu I incur from it's use.
But the _real_ reason is the look of consternation I see on faces of consultants etc. as they start to 'borrow' my PC, type for a bit, then look down because they've a password to type in, and doubletake because they can't actually deal with the 'no keys' thing :)
