Well, that was a marvelous weekend.

Friday, picked up [livejournal.com profile] ehrine and [livejournal.com profile] lostdreamer666, and headed to plymouth. Got in about 10 ish, had food, discovered I had a slightly leaky hose in my radiator. (We had to monitor and top up a couple of times).

Set out saturday morning for Looe, whence there was a Festival. Various stalls with interesting things to eat/drink. Two icecreams, some 'local' apple juice, and a fish cocktail went down a treat. We then watched the royal navy playing 'rescue' with their helicopter, which was suitably impressive.

Continued onwards to find a picnic spot between two resevoirs in Falmouth, which was very pleasant, and then onwards to the Penzance Youth Hostel.

That evening, we had a _lovely_ meal in The Turks Head in Penzance, followed by a couple more drinks in The Dolphin on the harbour. (Both are in the good pub guide, and with good reason).

Sunday we bimbled around Penzance for a bit, before realising it _was_ one of these places that is utterly dead on Sundays, so proceeded onwards to Mousehole (pronounced Maow-zol) to do beach slobbery. Lunch at The Ship, for a truly excellent fish pie (and a rather nice supporting act of mackeral pate), followed by beach snoozing.

Cream tea, of course, had to be done.

Then we proceeded on to our final 'stop over' on The Lizard. Now, The Lizard is the furthest south you can go on the mainland. There's a lighthouse atop the headland. This youth hostel is in front of the lighthouse.
The weather held nicely, so the barbeque (and beer of course) was very good.
The view truly excellent, as to east, west and south was sea. The sunset faded slowly into a purple, punctuated by light from the lighthouse. (which was cool, to see beams of light swinging overhead).

Throughtout, the weather was bright, sunny and warm, even hot at times.

Truly a glorious weekend.

Having acquired shopping that morning, plans for the evening were for a barbeque. Grillsteaks and sausages.
