Coffee

Now don't get me wrong. I don't mind sharing coffee. After all, it's a decent an generous thing to do. Especially when work is paying for it. I don't mind sharing the coffee machine either. Whilst that _is_ mine, it was a 'ten quid from argos' job, and ... well I figure that a few more litres of coffee don't do it overly much harm.

What I _do_ mind though, is how I've been coming to the coffee machine, mid afternoon, to find it either a) empty or b) switched off with a bit less than a cup left in it.

I don't _mind_ sharing the coffee, but the deal is this. Every now and then, you get to make _me_ a pot. A pot holds about 5-6 cups, and I don't care if you only have one cup a day. By my reckoning, this means about once a week, you should be re-filling that pot.

I rather suspect I know who the culprit is too. There's only one person nearby who drinks coffee. But I'm not certain _enough_ that I'm prepared to grab him by the collar, breath heavily my coffee scented breath in his face, and do the "YOUR TURN TO MAKE A POT OF COFFEE".

One of the things I've been mulling over for a while now, is trying to stand for MP in the next general election. It's becoming quite clear, from the fact that the parties are becoming more vocal, that this is going to be Real Soon Now.

Now I sort of have the feeling that this is perhaps a plan that's doomed to failure. That said, as it stands, the registration fee is £500, minimum vote is 5%, and each candidate is entitled to one election communication per voter, free of postage.

So I guess the question is, would you vote for and/or support a 'none of the above' party candidate?

The line going (approximately):

"The election is approaching fast, and in all honesty, none of the candidates were ones I wanted to vote for. So I thought I'd try for another option."

And "I don't want a government that thinks that house arrest without a trial is 'ok'. I don't want a government that thinks xenophobia is a positive point. I don't want a representative that takes the party line, rather than what's good for the local constituency."

SINergy

SINergy for the new year, fast approaches.
This weekend in fact.
As a result of this, and because 'various' Beer Engine regulars are off to some concert or other, I shall be holding court in the Nursery on Friday evening, from 19:00. (ish, but really I have no excuse to be late).

The new year is looking pretty promising. We have 'several' enquires from new, and not so new players, so may have 5-10 more people this session. Not to mention a resurge of enthusiasm and eagerness, from both the players and the ref team.

A magical marvelous thought was that I could (ab)use the medium of LJ, for the purposes of 'live on the scene' journalist reporting. I rather like that idea, although as with so many such things, it may fall by the way if I get distracted.

New rules are up for commentary, I'm not entirely sure if we'll be using them this session or not. I'd like to, but I suspect the notice might be a bit short. Perhaps we could compromise around: "If you've converted your character, fine, if you haven't all your skills are halved, so you can skill make calls, but ... well will be a bit knobbled until you switch over"

If you've any thoughts on things to do, people to see, or just neato ideas, then please let me know. I'm not proud, I'm more than happy to plagiarise :) Same applies on Rumours, or Neon Fringe articles, although the deadlines on those are 'about tomorrow' so not much time left there.

The transport situation would appear to be pretty good for this session, so if there's anyone reading this who either hasn't been in a while, or would like to give it a try, please let me know, and we'll sort it.

Oh, and if anyone has a good idea for how to phys-rep a bloody mess in the middle of a club, in a non-hazardous, and not a complete arse to clean kind of way, please let me know.
