Well, that was moderately unpleasant. I just got to explain to one of our customers that the ultra critical project files he wanted restored from backup were unavailable.
Unfortunately, our backups only cover 6 months, so files from 1999 really aren't going to be on there.
Well, at least, they were deleted more than 6 months ago.

For 'perpetual' data, we have an archive server - files get kept on there, basically forever.

But of course, these really important files were never archived.

Explaining 'how it works' really isn't much of a consolation when you're getting lynched for not keeping your data.

Geeked!

A simple question to any windows guru.
I'm looking for a way to do a 'df' on windows.
Basically, I want to list local drives (I don't mind if network drives show too, as long as they're identifiable), with size, and usage. (I don't mind if it's used, free or just a percentage).

Simple eh?

But here's the catch. It's got to be command line. I need to be able to run it in a script.
I'm _currently_ planning to use the sysinternals utility 'psexec' to run it on a list of 20 servers or so.

Anyone got some suggestions? I don't _really_ want to be logging in to each, doing clicky clicky on properties, simply because this is going to become a monthly report.
