Mission accomplished
Apr. 22nd, 2005 03:28 pmMission accomplished.
Bank visited,
tax disk purchased,
backpack acquired,
more co-codamol acquired.
Have made a few discoveries though:
The bank has many many pens on chains. However, none of these are remotely close to the chairs, making filling in bits of paper whilst on crutches challenging.
M&S has a ramp to get in the shop. Leading to a flight of stairs down, and an escalator up.
Why?
The post office has the same problem as the bank, only with less pens.
Escalators on crutches are not fun.
Slopey ramps on crutches are worse than stairs. Especially going uphill.
Oh, and our kettle appears to have died. So the coffee plan would appear to be a bust.

Date: 2005-04-22 03:49 pm (UTC)The worst one to watch out for is ruthless pram-pushers. There are some who believe that because they have a pushchair/wheelchair to use as a weapon, eveyone must get out of their way. They'll tut-tut angrily if they knock you and charge straight at you if you're in their way, regardless of your ability to move, whether you're old, pushing something yourself, have nowhere to move to, or, yes, even on crutches.
