Hmm, yet more LJ spam.
Oh well.

(isn't alliteration cool?)

As of today, Pot is now Class C.
Good eh? That'll either be a complete disaster, or an extremely astute political maneuver on the part of the gov'mint.
Bong party anyone?

Hutton report: Blair's not a lying little shit. Dr. Kelly dying was bad luck. BBC were lying weasels What a surprise! Who do you backstab in your report, if you're given the choice between the current government, and the BBC...
I reckon they should let me write the reports on that kind of thing. I figure since they're mostly made up anyway, I could be much more entertaining. And it's a _golden_ opportunity for shit stirring. Can you imagine what'd happen if I'd presented a report saying that they were all a bunch of twats?

And whilst I think about it, in reference to my previous rambling the though occurs that Bush and Blair are absolutely right to head over to Iraq and give Saddam a good kicking. They believed they were right and justifed to do so. And they had the power to do so. And that's just the bottom line really.

Ok, so we can bitch and moan, but let's not forget kiddies, that they were _elected_ they didn't seize the power to do it, it was given to them, for better or for worse. Electing a politician _is_ implicitly trusting them. It should be obvious how potentially unwise this could be.

Course, everyone else can just bleat and whine, and a fair chunk are. What's that phrase:
"A fool may mock an Emperor, but at the end of the day, the fool is still a fool, and the Emperor is still an Emperor."

Oh well.

Weekend coming up. Promises to be pretty good. Friday afternoons are relaxed at work.

Friday evening, it'll be the Nursery in Earlsdon.
Saturday, well I'm not sure yet, but I'm sure we can get _something_ going. Anyone up for Old Orleans for steak and cocktails? Maybe some D&D, depending if we can get someone to be reffin'. (The irritating thing is I have creative surges and urges, but they're mostly aimed at Sinergy these days.)
Sunday, is of course, SINergy, the Cyberpunk LRP. Kick off for 11am breakfast in Sainsburys. Then we can fight over who's driving whom, head up to the Sal for pre-game ranting and food.
And I can show off my new toy!.
Thankfully I have a day off on monday too. So might even try and do "something" on monday as well. Oh and we're possibly in with a few visitors, one of which is a definite for Sinergy, the other is a possible.

The other thing that's bothering me, is my book archive is getting longer. No, not the fiction, I munch through that as if it were going out of fashion.
I've not got 4 books in various states of 'not finished'-ness.
Thus Spake Zarathusta - Niezsche,
The Prince - Machiavelli
Vodou Shaman - Ross Heaven,
and just today, "Divine Horsemen, the Living Gods of Haiti" my Maya Deren.

All were purchased cos they looked interesting (and possibly reference material for sinergy). But they're gradually drifing down the road towards being 'posing books' on my bookshelf.
Sigh. I don't like not having finished a book. But for some reason, I just can't summon the enthusiasm to read them a little bit at a time like I can fiction stuff. Well and Dilbert, that isn't quite fiction, but you know what I mean.

Maybe it's just down to style.

And I've just noticed, that I've written an entry on an awful lot of days this month. Is it wrong to backdate entries to 'fill in the gaps'?

I would debate the "they thought they were right & justified" bit. Bush wanted Oil, and Blair went along with it.

As for the "Bush being elected". Bollocks. Go read Stupid White Men.

Can't deny Blair was though. But look at the opposition. Lib Dems aren't a threat to power yet, and whatever you say about Blair, he's better than the Conservetives...

He managed to successfully gain leadership of the country, with a mandate of a 'substantial fraction' of the population. That's as close to elected as matters.

(I've read stupid white men. Moore rants effectively, and I guess that's a step along the way to 'doing')
