Naming NPCs

Is it wrong to name an NPC in a roleplay game after a workmate? Particularly with reference to arranging to have someone the target of a kidnapping, mugging, beating or assassination?

Well, I've been toying with mismatching forenames and surnames. You get some quite odd mixes when you start talking about an international addressbook :)
