Pressing 'Alt-Ctrl-Delete' to clear a screensaver is not a good idea.
It is epecially not a good idea when you're using a console server.
Because whilst your pissly little NT box will deal with an Alt-Ctrl-Delete, a console server can, and indeed usually is hooked into more than one thing. So you've got about a 1 in 8 change of it actually being switched to the server you thought it was.

My Linux server, which I have plugged into said console switch _does not_ like it when you do that. As all sane operating systems should, when getting the 'restart now you bastard' interrupt, it rebooted.

This made me unhappy. You are now very lucky that I have not broken your legs, and you may want to think very hard about not being anywhere near the carpark, or my route home this evening.

In /etc/inittab change the line that says:

ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t1 -a -r now

to:

ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/usr/bin/mpg123 /home/dan/store/mp3/dontdothat.mp3

or similar :)

Hmm, what a marvelous idea.
Of course, what'd be even better is if you could set it to electrify the keyboard...

with a small amount of electronics knowledge, I'm sure it could be set to move a small actuator attaching power to the tinfoil inlayed into the ctrl, alt and del keys :)
