Does it count as spamming to transfer someone a penny to their bank account, but add an advert in the 'reference'?

So the statement'll show things like:
Sainsburies, 22.33
Shell, 39.20
*BUY YOUR VIAGRA FROM WWW.VIAGRA.COM*, 0.01 CR

etc.

It'd cost less than postage on junk mail...

So, what were you account details again?

Can you transfer a penny? I thought the minimum for an online banking was a little higher than that.

At least with some banks...

Anyway, you'd have to lose the asterisks and a chunk of the text. "BUY YOUR VIAGRA FROM WWW.V" sounds about right. :-)

What a wonderfully sneaky way of doing things. It would need be to be your company name/ident mark, to register with the company whose system/card reader you use for each transaction you make. Each transaction will then pass into BACS for distribution to the bank who will then put it on a statement.

Once inside the system I doubt whether they are word scanners to pick up on this, statements/BACS systems are usually old and rarely touched because of the havoc they can cause if missed around with.

I think the first bank to do it would lose all its customers.

That would rule!

Banks start grouping any credit of 1p on your invoice into a single credit, and let it roll in.

The only way for the spammers to be seen is then to credit you 2p a line...until the bank increases the limit again.

Soon we'll all get rich from spam!

Groovy :D

Not only is that a scary prospect right there but then people would freely give away bank details in order to increase their spam coverage.
