Something wrong?
Nov. 18th, 2004 01:44 pmAnyone see anything wrong with this log snippet?:
Yes, that's right. The Compaq/HP Insight manager agent, when being updated by a collegue (an operation that we've done numerous times before - after all, it's only re-installing an SNMP agent), decided to delete and re-add all the fans from the hardware 'list'. Which then, because one of the system fans had 'failed' it triggered an shutdown.
Of course, neither of us were 'close' enough to the console to abort the shutdown...
Now I suppose we could have used this on out 'test' system, but ... well we basically don't have duplicated test hardware for every combination we have. Sad but true.
