Sinister Clocks
Oct. 29th, 2004 10:14 amIt is approaching that time of year once more.
Yes citizen, the clocks change. Time shifts by an hour. You will conform to this new way.
Ironically, I don't think I actually have to change any of my clocks. Well, the one in my car maybe.
But my clock radio'll reset of the DAB time signal. My alarm clock uses the radio clock. My computer uses NTP. And my watch just has a good idea of it's temporal position in the year.
And for those not quite sure which way around it is, there's the old adage:
"Spring Forward, Fall Back". You get an extra hour in bed on sunday morning.

Don't worry, I'll be thinking of you ...
Actually, that's a lie, I won't. I'll still be ASLEEP IN BED.
But I will remember, when I arise from my slumber at 10, and wander off to sainsburies for a big bad breakfast, and sit, quaffing coffee and munching on collossal quantities of bacon, eggs, sausages and hash browns.
And I shall be laffin' my arse off.

Date: 2004-10-29 05:12 am (UTC)For I will take great offence at being woken up in the morning, just because someone has a daughter who can't read the time yet and someone else thinking its funny ;p
