When changing the hostname on a Sun, there are 8 files that use or define it's hostname

   /etc/hosts
   /etc/nodename
   /etc/hostname.<xxn> (interface card eg: ce0)
   /etc/net/ticls/hosts
   /etc/net/ticots/hosts
   /etc/net/ticotsord/hosts
   /var/crash/<hostname> (directory needs renaming)
   /etc/dumpadm.conf

Amend each, and reboot, and you're done.
Alternatively, you _can_ modify online, however, it's always good when making a notable modification to reboot to check for typos.

It's worth remembering though, that certain apps 'remember' the hostname eg. Oracle.

(sigh, another 350 day uptime reset)

Don't you need to change /etc/dumpadm.conf as well?
