The day of the duel fast approaches. Tremayne and Varis fighting over the hand of the Lady Marekha. It promises to be quite in intriguing day.

I guess I'm going to be running around arranging things. I'm guessing that handling introductions is probably going to fall to me. Orinda has approached me on the subject - I belive she was a little concerned a being thrown in at the deep end, in a formal situation. I doubt there'll be a problem, I mean worst case is someone trying to kill you. Doesn't often happen at this kind of event though. It's considered a little impolite to hijack someone's formal duel.

I've managed to persuade Mordana that she should be in attendance. She agreed with caveats - she's not going to be sitting with 'the family'. I must say, she's got a frightful temper. I mean, I appreciate that certain things must be dealt with, but is smashing large quantities of furniture just to make the point that you're a bit miffed really necessary?

Oh well, I'm sure that Xavier is in for an interesting marriage. I've not mentioned what happened to her previous husband, I mean poor Xavier doesn't really need more cause for wedding nerves. And anyway, that was because he'd cheated on her, rather than not keeping his motor-mouth in check. So I'm sure she'd be prepared to settle the matter with some minor injury. Castration maybe.

Of course, it does rather raise the question, if Mordana is going to be trying to kill Xavier after they're married, that he's a positive interest in ... shall we say assisting Marekha in her objectives? Talk about forming a queue of people to kill.

It's actually probably better for Xavier if Tremayne does win tomorrow. If Mordana can be persuaded to settle her grudge with Marekha first (precedence and all) and loses, then Tremayne and Xavier can settle the matter formally, and amicably. The forms will be obeyed, and Xavier is free of ties.

I also expect I'll be introduction various people, which will be interesting.

I've also been told that I'm going to have to 'dress formal'. Hopefully i'll be able to slip away to change beforehand. I've been careful to keep some of my abilites quiet. An ostentatious display is something I'd rather avoid.
