I've finally figured it out. The 'exercise' culture.
It's not about fitness. It's not about health.
It's about perving and masochism.
Oh yes.
There's two kinds of people who go to the gym. Those that like watching lycra clad forms jiggle, and 'exercise whiners'.
I guess it gives some common ground, amongst people so fundamentally boring that all they can talk about is how much they hurt after ${feat of endurance}. But rather than do something like climbing a mountain, skydiving, snowboarding, airsofting, larping or doing martial arts, they do their adventure in half-hour chunks. And so they bounce vivaciously into the gymnasium, ready to pretend once more that they are Mighty and can climb mountains, live cars and cycle from Lands End to John O' Groats.
They tell themselves "No Pain, no gain".
It's a lie you know.
"No Pain, No Pain".
And they call us roleplayers wierd, for pretending we are Mighty, and can slay dragons. 'least that doesn't hurt OC.
