So, for the first time, I've been pulled by the police.
I was 'going a bit quick' on the A45 through Ryton. In all honesty I've no idea how fast I was going, because I was doing the whole 'I want to be at home' style of driving. Which I guess is why I didn't ping the police car, because usually I notice them more than early enough.
So they pulled me over. And as I got out, they clearly recognised me as their great lord and master, and so made up the hurried excuse that they wanted to take my Pizza order. I of course, requested my 'usual' of a large meatfeast, and a 4 pack of beer. I also gave them a ticket for speeding, because obviously if they caught me, they were exceeding the limit too. They said "thank you very much sir" and off they toddled, lights going to fetch me pizza.
Actually, that's not entirely true.
The chap was rather polite, although I think that might've been because I jumped out of my car with a "I was going a bit too fast wasn't I?".
And he said 'yep. And you're lucky I don't have a camera on board, so I'm just going to give you a presenter so you can go take your drivers license and insurance docs down the station'.
This has inspired me to do a rather large amount of tidying. Because I had no idea where my V5, Insurance cert and MOT cert. actually were since moving.
I thought that I'd get this out of the way soonest, and so would drop in to Canley police station right away. Unfortunately, it was closed to the public, although I rather suspect that's because it was 6pm on a sunday.
But the guy was actually fairly nice about it. I guess he doesn't want the hassle of booking someone on the way home, that was doing a 'little' over the limit on a dual carriage way. (By a little, it's the difference between 50 going through the camera, and me putting my boot down. So can't have been that much...)

Date: 2004-09-13 09:33 am (UTC)I got pulled for going around a roundabout a bit quick. Yes it was to stop the asrsehole rolling onto the roundabout when it was my right of way from hitting me, but they were required to pull me over and breath test me...
I passed the test and I got a telling off, so nothing on my record.

Date: 2004-09-13 10:29 am (UTC)And have now also found that the bit of paper that I _thought_ was my insurance certificate, is actually a policy schedule. That has all the details on it, but apparantly isn't what they want.
Yet more frantic tidying ensues...
