Job market.
Sep. 2nd, 2004 09:34 amI swear the IT job market in the UK has picked up notably. I'm getting several calls a week from recruitment agents now. And about 50% of those are 'I might be interested in this job but ...' types of thing.
One thing I have noticed is that quite a few of them are doing the 'telephone interview' as a prelude. Just a 20-60 minute telephone chat before actually going as far as interview.
Means that both can decide whether it's 'worth their time', and speaking as one who'd have to book holiday to attend, I reckon it's a good thing. The only tough job is balancing relative amounts of pay, vs costs of living/relocation, and from there deciding whether you'd be prepared to accept.
