Now I remember why I despise 'main' electrical retailers.
Currys, Dixons and their ilk.

Just been on a shopping trip to buy a DAB clock radio.

Now is it unreasonable for me to assume that because 'they' charge a premium for their products, and their 'shopping experience' to want them to have _some idea_ of what it is I'm after?

Specifically, the difference between Digital Audio Broadcast and PLL Digital tuning. I mean, I know they both have the word Digital in there, but there's really an _awful_ lot of difference.

Trying to get me to buy and extended warranty too, was really quite irritating. I don't really need a £40 warranty, on a £70 bit of kit. Especially when if it breaks in under 3 years, I'll be returning it as 'Not Fit for Purpose' (A statutory right in the UK) anyway.

I also have a danger survey on The Register that needs filling out.
You can find it here

And here's a meme, just because it's almost ironic...

Angel
You are an angel. You walk away. You are a
nonviolent person, and nothing can ever get you
mad, let alone send you into the howling rage
some people enter when they've been insulted.
Why did you even take this quiz?

I was wondering around London last night and popped into PC World (with no intention of buying you understand). The bloke at the desk was denying that they stocked molex power splitters to two customers. After they had gone I had a look in the section and found one in about 30 seconds. It is nice to know that they have staff that know their stock.

Interestingly, years ago I was looking for a set of the brass mounting studs for a case I'd drilled to fit an odd sized MB, I asked at the Upgrade counter in PC World and I was told, "No, we don't have anything like that, we don't even have processors."
I looked down into the glass cabinet built into the desk and frowned at the small pile of boxes labeled Intel P3 733MHz Processor and said "Erm... then what are they?"

It was like watching someone who'd just been stuck with a large pin. I didn't get what I wanted though...

How did your users do?

Nothing to worry about here.

Your users are so feeble minded you're lucky they can manage a keyboard without filling it with dribble.

Except half of them can't even manage that... :-)

Water
You are like water, reacting slightly when
something affects it. You tend to react, though
not necessarily violently, to people slighting
you and your friends. While you don't really
walk away, you don't start WW3 over a small
thing either. Congratulations; this is the
average person.

At Dixons? Come on. Muppet central. (These places have quotas for the extended warranties, incidentally...)
