Amber

Well, interesting times abound around Castle Amber.
I woke this morning to Lady Marekha fretting about something.
It seems the Amberites have been killing people. Or something. They've certainly been bouncing around the courtyard a lot.

Well, I've sort of been asked to accompany some of the Amberite princes off somewhere to do something. Unfortunately, no one really seems to know what. I think I'm technically tagging along as a representative from the Chaos delgation. I hope I don't mess it up. Although it depends on what's happening first I suppose.

Some of these Amber princes are funny sorts really. I mean, when looking around the castle, I met a chap named Joseph. He was rather nice, but seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. And they guy with him. Darius. Shifty looking sort. But at least he's recommended a bar down in the city. Called 'The Manticore' I believe. Of course, with things happening since, I may not have time to go and see. But we shall see. I'd like to see some of the city, since ... well I'm not likely to have the opportunity once our business here is done.

Well, it seems that someone's been summoning demons in the city of Amber. There's a book with some quite specific instructions on how to go about it. Of the sort that an inexperienced sorceror might be able to pull it off. Well, provided he didn't pass out during the 12 hour ritual.

I don't know much about sorcery though, I suppose it's something I'd better learn at some point. There's just too many distractions about. Like libraries. Castle Amber has a lovely library. Some interesting books by Lady Fiona and Prince Delwin. And quite a few others of course. I must say, the 'secured' section of the library has piqued my interest a little. I mean, there must be some fascinating things in there. I wonder if I could impose upon my hosts for a bit of a look. There's a couple of fascinating texts that I've been looking for for some while.

My break from the courts means that I'm not as up to date on my reading as I might like. Well, at least not about important things.

I wonder if this Uther chap might be inclined to show me a thing or two about it? Sorcery. I daresay he's a busy man, but he did sound like he knew what he was about.
Maybe that'll have to wait a time though, it seems that the castle is in chaos (hehehe) somewhat. Someone appears to have managed to stab Tremayne. Most unfortunate. I was given to understand that he was about as close to invulnerable as ... well it was possible to be really. Which is rather strange.

It seems that Tremayne has walked the pattern too. Between that an assassins, it's been a busy morning I guess. I wonder how he manages.

Oh and met a nice chap called Xavier. It's him that's getting married. I'm sure it'll be a very interesting wedding. His bride to be is a most enthusiastic lady, and I'm sure they'll be very happy together.

And Lucien. He was an interesting seeming fellow. Didn't get much chance to speak to him though.
