Weekend

Well, I survived Maelstrom.

And whilst it was my first all weekend event, I have to say I was thoroughly entertained.
Whilst no one had a good idea of ... well anything it was still excellent fun to walk around and talk to everyone.

A lot of the time I got the 'yeah, very interested in you and your ships, but let's talk in 3 months time'. Which of course, is not a lot of good at all because we have a very large debt to pay off.

Oh well, I figure we _are_ in a very strong position in general terms - we're operating one of _the_ most powerful ships (and a corsair, which really isn't to be sniffed at) and from what I've heard one of 6. 4 of which are in sacuzza hands. The other one (The Black Kraken) is also an independant.

We did, however manage to turn enough of a profit to be operating this quarter. (I think, I'll have to get our money monkey to indicate what size our stash is.)

Although I doubt we can cover payments on construction work we've undertaken, since no one really knew how much that would cost anyway.

(and certainly in some of the cases, that was expected anyway).

I do still need to think of something creative to do with the Man O'War though. I'll be learning navigation this time around, since no one had ... well any cargo, or any money.

Nev' mind. At the worst, I'll default on payments and return the ship. (and maybe even create another character at that point, because I'll be a 0 point character then).

And I want to thank everyone who was there, because I had a _really_ good time. I also apologise to anyone I managed to annoy - let me know, and i'll try and avoid it next time.

You have (IIRC) 2 more events before your first interest payment is due, so there's time yet.

Try not to default on your loan though, those Sacuza can be a mite unpleasant when they want to :-)

Indeed. Even so, I think that the kind of magnitude of payment they're wanting is going to require us to just turn around, tell them to bugger off, and try and stamp on their choc-ice.
