Following on from this post about sausage numbers - I did actually email Quorn about it, because ... well, why not.

"Thank you for your recent contact regarding Quorn Products. We were sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the Quorn Sausages which you purchased recently.

Please be aware that the chilled 4 packs and frozen 6 packs of sausages are still available, please see attached listing.

We have decided to 5 packs of sausages due to requests from smaller families who find the chilled 4 packs and the frozen 6 packs too large or too small for them.
We are also trialing frozen sausages in 8 packs again after requests from larger families.

This is in addition to our Quorn sausage value packs which are exclusive to Iceland stores, which contain an average of 10 sausages per pack.

We have also launched similar pack sizes in our burger range.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times."

So there you go. Apparently they sell in 5s, because 4 packs are too small, and 6 packs are too large.

Reminds me of the time I couldn't decide between Cornwall and France for a holiday, so I spent the summer in a rowing boat in the Channel.

If only humankind could find some way to divide that fifth sausage between two people...

Some sort of method of splitting that sausage into two equal portions... that would solve it, right?

I didn't like to say before, but it would make life somewhat easier if sausages came in 5s. 6s are OK, but 5 fit just right into a small frying pan or along a row of the grill, and divide better for our family - 2 each for the adults, 1/4 for Feeyah, 3/4 for Simon. We're now managing more sausage per person, so we can cope with 6s, but for a long time there was a sausage left over that somebody had to eat up. Also, weirdly, hot dog bun packs around here seem to come in 5 multiples, so that for a pack of 6 sausages you need to buy 4 buns too many.
