Have just been to see "Knowing".

Do you remember that experience of watching AI?
You know. The one where you saw a film that had some decent headline names, based on an interesting premise.
And then the film started out pretty good, paced quite well and built tension.
And then, it was like the director had a stroke half way through, and proceeded to masturbate furiously over the script and the cast, and scribble inane drivel in his own excretions?

Yeah, it's a bit like that.

To be fair, I think I can see what it was trying for - it went for something very ambitious, but ... well, kinda crashed and burned along the way.

I've heard similar things from other friends too, which is a real pity as I used to really like Nicholas Cage; as it stands now, has he even made a good film in the last 8 years?

Oh, and "AI" went downhill after the first half hour. And kept going for a further 2½!!!

Yeah! I know exactly what you mean about AI. It had such promise and then turned into a steaming pile of poo when Spielberg took over.

I think I'll be skipping "Knowing" based on your assessment. :)

I saw that on a plane... liked it too. Though it ended a bit early, imo.

That's what I've been fearing. I think I can wait for the DVD to become available for renting.
