Explorination

OK. I had this rather cool idea for next year. It goes something like this. Recently, we explored 'around' jambon_gris's hometown. Went to places, and landmarks that he'd not been to.

So, I though. Golly. What a lot of places I've not been to, near where I live.

Here's the idea. We arrange a weekend, and 'pick' on a person, who lives, or lived 'somewhere'. They act a bit as guide, but then a bunch of us, bundle 'there'. Find a campsite and set up a camp. Each picks out something to check out, in the area, and makes a point of finding out where it is, when it's open, how much it costs and how long it takes.

And then we head there, and proceed to check out 'a few' of the places of interest, in the area.

Duration, I'm thinking long weekends are the way to go, but that's somewhat negotiatable.

Any takers? Either for 'exploring' or for 'hosting'.

Quite happy to host. People are more than welcome to visit in any case. I'd be up for the visiting, too, but it may proove tricky to get time away from the family.

I think it's a good idea but the areas I'm most familiar with is either round here or Salisbury, which is close by you.

By hosting, I mean basically being 'resident person who knows stuff'. Not specifically anything else.

I'd be well up for that. Visiting or hosting, so would Gaius although he doesnt know that yet!!
