sobriqueToday's been a rather pleasant day out. I'm currently down south, visiting my parents.
Popped to Salisbury to a restaurant called LXIX Bistro, which was rather nice. Bimbled around salisbury for a bit, and then headed back to go to the Weyhill fair beer festival. Which again, was rather nice. Bit disappointing in how they've 'kept' their beers - their options this year were sadly, a little flat, and actually, not all that great.
BUt they did have a hog roast, which was glorious. Options were 'bread roll, fill with as much as you can' which was rather impressive. But not quite as good as the _other_ option. A 'hock'. Now, being the curious sort, I wanted to know what it was, and so bought one. Only to be handed a rather ferocious quantity of ... well, pig drumstick I guess is about the only description that fits. A bone, with what I can only describe as 'more than enough' meat. And as an added bonus, wrapped up in plenty of 'crackling'.
There's something very satisfying about eating something like that.
