It's friday.
I like fridays.
I think on this particular friday, I'll be going to monsoon, for some beer and curry, and then going to whitefriars.
The only real flaw with this particular plan is that the garden in whitefriars fills up too fast. That said, there's plenty of space indoors, and not too warm at the moment.
If I were to suggest that 18:30 were a good time to aim to be curry-ing, would there be interest? (I'll check LJ before I leave, and phone as necessary)

Date: 2006-05-12 09:32 am (UTC)If that's not interesting enough for your tastes, then I don't mind, I have a good book to read.
On the other hand, posting a 'I'm not going to try and do this fairly simple and easy plan, because I have better things to do' (or making some excuse) isn't especially useful. This is especially the case when this is the normal state of affairs. I appreciate that not everyone enjoys pubs or otherwise being sociable. That is fair enough.
I'm not especially appreciative of regular responses that essentially imply that socialising with 'us' (or more specifically me) is not worth the bother.

Date: 2006-05-12 10:24 am (UTC)I shall be at the pub this fine evening, but probably not coming for curry. I think all I meant was that, as Organiser of Pubbing, you could use your Power to get people going to some really interesting places, trying new restaurants, etc. Not every week of course, because you're entirely right: that would get complicated, and sometimes a routine is nice. I just meant occasionally. Could do something silly like hire a big boat on Cov canal and get pissed on it. I dunno...

Date: 2006-05-12 10:32 am (UTC)As for the drunken party on a boat in the canal, I'd like to go on a canal boat holiday again at some point and so pissing off one of the companies in Coventry that rents them strikes me as a bad plan ;)

There's two kinds of meal really. The ones that prepare you for the pub, and the ones that are a night out of their own :). Personally I favour stuff like monsoon for the former, but don't mind trying to arrange some of the latter.
