And on an unrelated note, as of today, my last student loan payment has just gone. My graduate loan (for my car) is settled. And all my credit cards are paid off, and I am not overdrawn. I guess that means I actually have a postive net worth, so probably should be thinking about a will :)

Did you defer repayment at all? I just started sucking up the £100/month debits, and so it's just gradually vanished.

Yeah, I did (twice, in fact IIRC). I also did a four year degree.

I paid my student loan off early just before I shipped out Stateside. I made positive net worth a while ago but I'm still waiting for my credit card balance to clear and then I no longer have any creditors at all... apart from my employer to whom I owe work. Ah well. There really isn't any escape.
