Mince pie challenge
Dec. 12th, 2005 01:17 pmOne of my workmates is doing the mince pie challenge.
He bet the price of 6 mince pies that he can eat 6 in 6 minutes, after a 'standard lunch'.
He's flagging on the first pie, it's not looking good, although it's amusing the rest of the workplace :)
EDIT: 6 minutes later, the timer beeped when he was just tidying up the crusts. Fatality.
Edit: And now they're discussing mince pie munching strategies, like timing of water sips, and whether you want to swallow, chew, and remove crusts for later.

Date: 2005-12-12 07:49 pm (UTC)Take your mince pie, nibble a hole in the side about 1cm wide. Take one can of extra thick squirty cream. Put nozzle in the hole and squirt away! When the gap between the mince and the top crust is full of cream scoff with great joy! It gets rather messy which is most of the fun.

Date: 2005-12-13 09:28 pm (UTC)the folk legend is that one has to eat 12 within the season ie. 12 days of Xmas each pie is the good luck for that monyth. I have tried foe 34 years and as yet have not managed 12 in th e time alloted oh! and you must never refuse a mince pie until 12 have been consumed. If you dont like them do not try this at home!!!
