Not Drinking

I've been 'not drinking' since new years day. And ... well, I mean 'mostly not' and made a couple of exceptions for weekends away.

I think I've given up now. It has dismally failed and so all I've managed to do is just end up not drinking beer when I've wanted to.

Now the weather has warmed up, I think pub beer gardens, with nice beer is in order, more than my faffing about trying to do something that clearly just doesn't work.

The only real thing that I've felt it 'worthwhile' is that I got to write '0' units on my form at a new dentist.

Amusements in small ways.

We have a backup server, and a whole load of tapes in it.
Recently, because ... well it's useful for troubleshooting and stuff, I wrote a set of scripts that 'did test things'. Like, loading the same tape in each drive, and checking they all got the same volume label.
That kind of thing.
Anyway, I could have used an arbitrary random tape to do this, but it amused me to pick on a particular number. So I picked on tape '666'.

My workmate just yesterday, was a little bit creeped out at just how often that number was showing up in our logs. I didn't tell him why.
