Ok, I cracked. I bought an LJ permanent account.

Kinda annoying that they did it _now_ mind, as I only recently bought another year of time.

Anyone want 326 days of paid LJ-ness? (And what's it worth? Surely it's got to be worth a beer or two :))

Have just experienced the joy of a 300 quid electric bill. Not sure if that's the computer (I've been leaving it on rather a lot) or the new shower. (Which seems to run for about an hour a day).

New toys arrived friday.
A 2Gb USB key (30 quid off ebay - I only got one, rather than the two I paid for, but apparantly the second is being sent)
and a TV B Gone

Last SINergy of the season was on Sunday.

From what I saw, it went pretty well.

Clear of 40 people on the door.

4 character deaths. (2 'almost' character death)

Global communications disrupted, and the matrix taken offline. (Neon Fringe articles of how much this is a disaster to follow)

1 supertanker full of LPG exploded in the Suez Canal.

Some small explosive devices flattening (almost) everyone in the club. (Not Our Fault :). We vetoed the use of explosives, in favour of 'stun' explosions, because we really didn't want a season ending with that many player kills)

(Italian) National anthem sung. At gunpoint.

1 duel on the dance floor.

1 suicide bomber.

And lots and lots of mayhem dished onto various people.

Why me?

I go away for one day. Just one day.

And everything falls apart.

Well, ok, not quite that bad, but our backup server is being a pain.
We're getting crashes with far more frequency than we'd like.

We've got all the overnight jobs still 'pending' because the library thinks it's got 8 tapes loaded in the drives, but all the drives are empty. And it's erroring on load/unload. So no backups, no restores 'till that's sorted.

And of course, then we've got to deal with the 'crashing problem'.

Looks like I'm working late today.
