Well, if there's one thing I've come to realise over the last 6 weeks, it's this:
I absolutely hate being dependant.

I'm appreciative of those who help me out with day to day stuff. Shopping, moving things up and down stairs, and lifts to places being prime examples.
It's very nice to be brought shopping, or to be driven around town. However, there's a _world_ of difference between someone popping to the shops, and picking some stuff up for you because ... well they were going that way anyway, and having to rely on others for it, because you just can't do it yourself.

I suppose it's pride of a sort. The kind that drove me to make a shopping trip into down, despite the fact that I knew it would be difficult (and it was), because I had to prove to myself that I _could_ do it.
There really is nothing more depressing than feeling useless and helpless.

I remain touched and greatful for all the support that I've had, but I'm still eagerly looking forward to the day that I can walk and drive again. This, I hope will not be too far off. and I shall be asking the doctor this later today.
