Can you imagine the horror, faced with two weeks of enforced idleness at home, to fire up one's system, and see a blue screen proclaiming "Inaccessible boot device".

This is most distressing, I must say. However, thanks to the assistance (and boot CD) of [livejournal.com profile] mrbear I now have a system that is mostly intact.

I think that upgrade is getting closer though...

I am thinking about a new pc as well. If you want to save money then I can sell my current one and move to a new one. This way you can still be saving for a new house/car/whatever and get an upgrade.

This is the ingredients by which we bake the cake:
AMD Athlon "Thoroughbred" XP 2600+ 333FSB (Socket A) CPU
Abit NF7-S v2.0 nForce2 (Socket A) Motherboard
Corsair 256MB DDR XMS2700C2PT Platinum CAS2
Thermalright SLK-900 (Socket 478 & Socket A)
Papst 8412 NGML 80mm fan (4 pin) plus spare Papst 8412 NG 80mm Fan (4 pin)
Samsung SM352-B 52x52x24x16x CD-RW/DVD Combo (White)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB 7200RPM ATA100
Globalwin GAT-001 v.2 Aluminium Case
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Teac 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive
Globalwin Super Silent 22dBA 420W ATX Power Supply
Akasa Rounded Ultra ATA133/100/66 IDE Cable (0.9m) - Luminous Metal Braided
Creative Audigy 2 - Retail
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 128MB DDR TV-Out/DVI
Logitech Z-340 2.1 Speakers - 33 Watts

I'm sure we can negiotate a reasonable price.
