SINergy for the new year, fast approaches.
This weekend in fact.
As a result of this, and because 'various' Beer Engine regulars are off to some concert or other, I shall be holding court in the Nursery on Friday evening, from 19:00. (ish, but really I have no excuse to be late).
The new year is looking pretty promising. We have 'several' enquires from new, and not so new players, so may have 5-10 more people this session. Not to mention a resurge of enthusiasm and eagerness, from both the players and the ref team.
A magical marvelous thought was that I could (ab)use the medium of LJ, for the purposes of 'live on the scene' journalist reporting. I rather like that idea, although as with so many such things, it may fall by the way if I get distracted.
New rules are up for commentary, I'm not entirely sure if we'll be using them this session or not. I'd like to, but I suspect the notice might be a bit short. Perhaps we could compromise around: "If you've converted your character, fine, if you haven't all your skills are halved, so you can skill make calls, but ... well will be a bit knobbled until you switch over"
If you've any thoughts on things to do, people to see, or just neato ideas, then please let me know. I'm not proud, I'm more than happy to plagiarise :) Same applies on Rumours, or Neon Fringe articles, although the deadlines on those are 'about tomorrow' so not much time left there.
The transport situation would appear to be pretty good for this session, so if there's anyone reading this who either hasn't been in a while, or would like to give it a try, please let me know, and we'll sort it.
Oh, and if anyone has a good idea for how to phys-rep a bloody mess in the middle of a club, in a non-hazardous, and not a complete arse to clean kind of way, please let me know.

Date: 2005-02-01 02:14 pm (UTC)Since we've been told not to convert (because we don't know the rulings on how), and that the ref / rules team will do it for us, I think that would be rather harsh. I know I'm going to have to have a sit down with Someone Relevant and go through all the conversion issues...

Date: 2005-02-01 03:20 pm (UTC)So, basically, you're saying "half all calls, cap at 5?".
Bah. I want the new rules system to come in, For It Is Good. But I want it done properly, all in one go, when it's finally ready.
Besides, I want my Combat Endurance of 8 first... ;-P (Yeah, I loose it under the new rules, and it doesn't actually have any in-game effect with the 10 cap there, but Goddamn it! I want my funky 8 sepc for a least 1 session! Sooo Close... ;-)

Date: 2005-02-01 04:49 pm (UTC)Go back to my first post and read it this time. Pay attention to the very first point I make. The second point still stands, but if you're changing that I'd let Van Voort know he doesn't have to convert the whole lot himself.
Actually, my second post still stands as well.

Date: 2005-02-01 05:52 pm (UTC)I was thinking on this. I have a plan, it may or may not work depending on those who are involved. And that was probably of little or no use to you anyway. And I need to talk to you regarding some PLOT I want to run this session.

Date: 2005-02-01 11:24 pm (UTC)have to say I'm with Robin with this one. I'm pretty sure it was announced that the character sheets would be "done" by a qualified ref (my impression being that this would be handled by Gareth hence the handing in of character sheets months ago)... or something to that effect. If we have to convert our characters over for this session then could pressure of a gentle and persuasive fashion be prodded at relevant Refs for guidance as to how this is to be done?. Especially to us non-technical rules readers who find rules rhetoric a bit boggling at the best of times, :)
ta!
